It’s easy to use public radio databases with ERGO.
We have prepared copies of the popular HFCC and EIBI radio database in the ERGO data format. You can get them on our Downloads page. Check out the High Frequency Coordination Conference and EIBI web sites for more information. Major updates are published twice a year – spring and fall
The ERGO data format is special. It enables rapid data searching and filtering. You can click one button in ERGO to Find all the stations on the current frequency (displayed in blue) and currently active (displayed in red.) When you click on a record, propagation to the transmitter is evaluated and displayed. Also, the location is shown on the map. This works as long as the HFCC or EIBI contain the location. Also, in the case of EIBI, the direction of the transmission is shown on the map. Finally, you can use the database to tune the receiver by clicking on the Frequency column. Conversely, you can set the data to Track your receiver as you change the frequency.
How to Install Public Radio Databases
Here are step-by-step instructions. They apply equally to HFCC or EIBI data.
- Download the database zip file.
- Extract the database files into a new folder. You can call the folder anything you want on your PC. We recommend that you save your data in folders under My Documents.
- Run ERGO. From the File menu, select Open and navigate to the database file. Open it.
- You can arrange the database display in ERGO various ways using the Window menu item.
In addition to these two databases, you can import other data such as ILGRadio and FMSCAN publications. We have Application Notes on how to import these on our Download page. More information is also available in our FAQ and Data Manual.
